The Smith Residence
Project Scope: New executive home

The Smith Residence is a beautiful new 2,800-square-foot industrial-style home. The home was built on a heavily wooded 50-acre site in the Town of Vermont, just north of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. This design-build project was developed in partnership with Hebert Design. The final product includes concrete floors throughout the home, tongue and groove wood ceilings, exposed HVAC ductwork, a metal roof, and Anderson windows and patio doors. The house appears to be built into the hillside. The goal was to disturb as few trees as possible to let the home blend in and avoid the feeling that the site had been clear-cut to build the home.
This project was recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin as a 2021 Silver Project of Distinction.
